Personal Approach: As an integrative psychiatric provider, I take a holistic and comprehensive approach to mental health care and blend both conventional psychiatry with complementary approaches. My focus is beyond treating symptoms and takes into consideration the gut-brain connection, interpersonal, lifestyle, and environmental contributions to create a personalized treatment plan to enhance self care, strengthen self-awareness, and promote overall wellness. I obtain objective data from stool tests to assess the microbiome, micronutrient tests, neurotransmitter metabolism tests, as well as tests to assess environmental toxins and detoxification pathways. I also use a trauma-informed approach and somatic techniques to improve the mind-body connection to address trauma and emotional issues.

Psychedelic Therapy has been my passion since 2018 and I believe in the innate healing powers we all possess and want to guide and evoke these powers within my clients on their healing journey. Plant medicines can be used in a therapeutic set and setting to intentionally invite and access our higher power and wisdom to bring about lasting change.

About Me: I enjoy being in nature, attending to my relationships with family and friends, and fostering my spiritual connection through varied practices.  I use food and movement as medicine and interweave Ayurvedic practices into my life as often as I can.

Credentials: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Certified Integrative Psychiatric Provider, Certified Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher (500 RYT), Certified Advanced EMDR Practitioner, Certified Psychedelic Therapist, Qualified Medical Professional (QMP) for Medical Cannabis

Karen Pendleton (Supervisor for CSWs), LCSW, EMDRIA, TF-CBT

Specializations: Trauma and PTSD/C-PTSD, Dual Diagnosis, Chronic Illness, LGBTQIA2S+, Life Transitions, Sexual Abuse, Neurodivergence

Works Mostly With: Adults, Young Adults, Parents of LGBTQIA+, Adolescents

Personal Approach: I approach therapy from a holistic perspective and use an interweave of evidence based modalities depending upon the needs of the client. Generally, EMDR, Brainspotting, Breathwork, and IFS are at the forefront of treatment. Therapy in my office can look like: talking, silently breathing and somatically processing, drawing, playing, walking in nature — all based on what feels best to you as you get to know yourself better and your own therapeutic needs, goals, and preferences. Whatever the modality, you are a co-creator of your therapeutic experiences and your voice matters.

About Me: It is really important to me to walk the walk and not just talk the talk as a therapist; I prioritize my own state of balance, growth, and self-care. Some of the things that help me feel balanced are: gardening, running, dancing, learning, creating connecting moments with people and animals…pretty much anything that fosters a sense of love, joy, and appreciation of the little things.

Credentials: LCSW, EMDR Certified, Brainspotting certified , TF-CBT, National Interpreter Certification (ASL), Utah Professional Certification (ASL), active member of: NASW, RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc.), EMDRIA, NAD (National Association of the Deaf), LGBTQ Affirmative Therapists Guild of Utah, Participating member of ASL Therapists non-profit organization on the Board of Directors

Jess Salmon therapist

Jesse Salmon, LCSW, RYT, RMP

Trained In: Mind-body Therapy, Somatic Processing, Meditation Training, Yoga Therapy, Reiki, CBT, Sand-tray therapy

Specializations: Depression, Anxiety, Relationships, Self-confidence, Spiritual Evolution, Trauma

Works Mostly With: Adults, Teenagers (16+)

Personal Approach: Jesse has a deep trust in the innate wisdom of every human to discover answers for healing & reclaim wholeness within themselves.  She holds a safe, calm, and steady container for her clients to do this sacred work.  She has an eclectic approach, drawing from a variety of modalities including mindfulness & meditation, somatic processing, therapeutic yoga, sand-tray, and art therapy.

About Me: Jesse is pulled by polarities: the sun & moon, the desert & bodies of water, solo time & relationships, deep quiet stillness & rambunctious sound and movement. She is an explorer of the unconscious, and continually curious about experiences that integrate the body, mind, and spirit.

Perhaps the best training she’s received thus far in life is with her 2 wonderful, silly daughters.  They’ve given her a crash course into the depths of her psyche-a deep dive into her shadow, continued opportunities for healing, and above all, pure joy and bliss.

Austin Houghtaling, PhD, LMFT

Trained In: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Brainspotting, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Experiential Therapy, Psychodrama

Specializations: Trauma, Couples Therapy, Self-sabotage, Family of origin, Leadership

Works Mostly With: Individuals (ages 18+), Couples, Groups

Personal Approach: Everybody has blind spots. Many different components contribute to the development of our blind spots. We hurt people—ourselves included and especially those we love the most—from our blind spots. Illumination is possible but requires a shift in perspective. I believe therapy can help with shifting perspectives as well as developing courage and curiosity along the way. I enjoy pulling on my professional and personal experience in helping people get “unstuck” and enjoy more meaningful connection with self and others.

About Me: I’m a sucker for national parks and beautiful scenery. Small towns, rural country, and cold beaches (like the Pacific Northwest) are my happy places. I love history. I played a lot of basketball—claim to fame: getting creamed by a guy that would later win the NBA dunk contest. I’ve been married for 20 years, have three children, and a “wanna be” dog—an 11 lb Shitzu.
